Meet Our Rabbi

Rabbi Shai Kaminetzky

Rabbi Shai Kaminetzky serves as a Rebbe at Yeshiva University, giving a daily BMP Shiur, and is a member of the Rabbi Norman Lamm Kollel L'Horaah (Yadin Yadin) in RIETS. He is also the Director of Staff Development for NCSY Kollel.  

Previously, he was a member of the Bella and Harry Wexner Kollel Elyon at RIETS and spent four years as a Rebbe at MTA, teaching Gemara, Chumash, and Machshava.

Before joining Shenk in 2022, Rabbi Kaminetzky served for two years as the Rabbinic Intern at Beis HaKnesses of North Woodmere under the mentorship of Rabbi Aryeh Lebowitz.

Rabbi Kaminetzky is a graduate of Yeshiva College where he earned a B.A. in Psychology and minors in Political Science and Business.

After spending two years in the Gruss Kollel in Yerushalayim—where he and his wife, Tamar, welcomed their daughter Basya—the Kaminetzkys moved to Washington Heights and have since been joined by their sons Mordechai, Aharon, and Chaim. 

Tamar has a Masters Degree from Azrieli where she was a PELE Chinuch Fellow. Tamar is a Chumash Teacher and Grade Advisor in Bruriah High School for Girls.
